Tasting notes: "It exhibits notes of black olive paste, forest floor, spring flowers, lead pencil shavings and plenty of black as well as blue fruits. With full-body, stunning concentration, a hint of smoky oak in the background, and superb texture and richness, it is an atypical and over-achieving effort in 2011. It should provide plenty of pleasure for 20+ years." - Wine Advocate
About the winery: It was in 1997 that Stephane Ogier joined the family estate, rooted for seven generations on the hillsides of Ampuis. After studying viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Stephane left home to work with some of the best winemakers in Burgundy and abroad. By taking over from his father Michel, he chooses to do specific work on his different terroirs to reveal the uniqueness of these places full of history.
