Wine Region: Burgundy - France
Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting notes: "Aromas of cassis, plums, ripe cherries and dark chocolate introduce the 2018 Volnay Vieilles Vignes, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and caressing wine that's fleshy and gourmand while remaining succulent and nicely defined, concluding with a ripely tannic finish. This derives from vines that see all-day sun and little in the way of breeze, located below premier cru Carelles." - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
About the winery:
Jean-Marc Bouley creates his domain in 1974 to which he will add, ten years later, his father's one. With his son, Thomas, they combine traditional methods and modern technology to produce concentrated wines, with good fruit, elegance and roundness. From 2012, Thomas runs the vineyard and intends to place his wines among the best of Volnay.
