Wine Region: Bordeaux - France.
Grape: Merlot and Cabernet.
Tasting notes: A major sleeper of the vintage, and one of the finest wines of the appellation, this blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc from proprietress Juliette Becot offers an intense purple color along with full body, supple tannins and an impressive texture. It is a significant over-achiever. This 2011 should drink well for a decade. - By the Wine Advocate.
About the winery: Chateau Joanin Becot was bought by the Becot family in 2001 to produce excellent wines in Cotes de Castillon, Bordeaux. The winery's philosophy is to treat vineyards like a rose garden, resulting in a 2019 blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cab Franc with notes of black cherry, tobacco, and blueberry jam. The wine's subtle minerality reflects the signature pink of the bottle, which represents the care and attention given to each grape.
