Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot
Tasting notes: This Saint-Julien has a frank nose that opens with aromas of stewed fruit, candied fruit, notes of toasted wood, animal touch. Good balance on a fairly fleshy and full wine, the character is pretty with finesse, the frankness; the tannins are ripe, good length, frank and straight on finesse.
About the winery: Since its creation, in 1725, four families have succeeded one another at the head of Gruaud Larose, one of the largest vineyards in the Medoc. It benefits from a microclimate that is particularly favourable for the expression of the vine. The current owner, the Merlaut family, gave an organic and biodynamic orientation to the vineyard.
