Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec
Tasting notes: Chateau Gruaud Larose 1995 displays a garnet colour with coppery reflections. The nose opens with spicy and leather notes, aromas of undergrowth and truffle. This Saint-Julien is powerful, velvety, of great elegance on the palate. The aromas of small red fruits - blackberry, blackcurrant - mingle with notes of truffle. The finish is long, smooth, superb.
About the winery: Since its creation, in 1725, four families have succeeded one another at the head of Gruaud Larose, one of the largest vineyards in the Medoc. It benefits from a microclimate that is particularly favourable for the expression of the vine. The current owner, the Merlaut family, gave an organic and biodynamic orientation to the vineyard.
